Continuous Mesh-Belt Sweet Potato Dice Drying Line (Zhumadian, Henan)

Release time:2026-10-10

On September 28, 2026, Guoxin Group completed the installation, testing, and operational handover of an industrial multi-layer continuous mesh-belt drying line for sweet potato dice in Zhumadian, Henan Province. Engineered specifically for high-starch, high-sugar root crops, this automated facility converts bulk diced sweet potatoes into uniform, shelf-stable dried products with exceptional energy efficiency and minimal manual labor.

2. Technical & Engineering Solutions

  • Sugar Caramelization & Scorching Prevention: High sugar concentrations in sweet potatoes cause surface browning and caramelization if exposed to uncalibrated high temperatures. The system utilizes a multi-zone stepped temperature curve (50℃ – 65℃), ensuring rapid moisture evaporation without thermal scorching or discoloration.

  • Starch Adhesion & Bed Permeability: Diced root crops exude surface starches that risk binding particles together, blocking hot airflow. An integrated sawtooth spreader combs incoming material from the elevator into a uniform bed depth across the mesh belt, maintaining optimal airflow dynamics.

  • Core Moisture Equilibrium: Static drying often leaves centers wet while over-drying outer layers. Multi-tiered belt drops naturally invert and tumble the sweet potato dice, exposing all sides to dynamic convective airflow for even core-to-surface dehydration.

3. End-to-End Processing Flow

Forklift Ton-Bag Unloading ──► Incline Elevator & Sawtooth Spreader──►  Mesh-Belt Dryer ──► Dynamic Tumble Drying──► Continuous Discharge

  1. Bulk Infeed: Forklifts hoist bulk ton-bags of freshly cut sweet potato dice directly into the receiving hopper.

  2. Elevated Spreading: An inclined cleated belt feeds material into the drying enclosure, where a motorized sawtooth spreader levels the dice evenly across the stainless steel mesh.

  3. Multi-Zone Convective Drying: Slices travel continuously through insulated modular drying chambers. Heated air circulates through the mesh openings, extracting moisture steadily as the product cascades between tiers.

  4. Continuous Output: Dehydrated sweet potato dice exit smoothly via the discharge conveyor, exhibiting bright natural color, full plumpness, and zero agglomeration.

FAQ

Q1: How does the continuous mesh-belt dryer prevent sweet potato dice from sticking to the conveyor?

A: The system utilizes specially treated anti-adhesion stainless steel woven wire mesh paired with precise variable-frequency airflow control. Natural tumbling during tier-to-tier drops prevents surface sticking and ensures clean material separation.

Q2: Can this drying line be adjusted for other root vegetables?

A: Yes. By modifying the PLC temperature parameters and belt speed profiles, the same continuous line adapts seamlessly to process potato dice/chips, yam slices, radish strips, ginger pieces, and cassava.
